Today was the last F&O expiry of 2011, the market witnessed thin volumes, but significant volatility. The Bombay Stock Exchangeÿs Sensex and National Stock Exchangeÿs Nifty tried to enter the positive zone, but failed miserably and ended near the dayÿs lows. Sensex closed at 15,543.93, down 183.92 points or 1.17% from the previous close. Nifty shut shop at 4,646.25, down 59.55 points or 1.27%.

JSPL is a fresh short again : it is a fresh short again. It has broken down yesterday on fairly heavy volume. It is unlikely that it will suddenly reverse and start going higher, so a lot of stocks, which are up 5-6-7%, today up on short covering something like Fortis or Mcleod and these moves are not sustainable. Like yesterday you remember Jain Irrigation was up 10%, today it is down 6%, so chances are that these moves will not sustain.
