The Indian stock market opened sharply lower and kept losing ground as the session progressed, with investors indulding in some heavy selling right through the day, amid fears about a slowdown in growth following the 25-basis points hike in repo rate. Renewed concerns about a likely tapering of economic stimulus by the U.S. Federal Reserve too contributed to the decline.
The BSE benchmark Sensex, which lost 383 points on Friday, after recording a hefty gain a session earlier, finished with a big loss of 362.75 points or 1.79% at 19,900.96 after plunging to a low of 19,826.30 in the final hour.◄•••❂❂❂❂❂❂
